Is anyone interested in doing another afternnon doubles thing?

We used to have a thursday afternnon thing going a while back and it was a lot of fun.

I was thinking it might be fun to get it going again on Friday afternoons about 2:30 or3, ish espeacilly as the days getlonger again.

Great way to start the weekend.

Re:More Doubles - 2006/02/01 01:13
I am interested in a regular doubles day too. I have to work till 4 though so I couldn't start that early. It would be nice to do though, and I think that if it gets big again like it was we should make groups no larger than 3 teams of 2 and preferably 2 teams of 2. I have heard from more than a few local "casual" players who really get turned off to the sport by large groups of what must seem like intimidating players to them. It was really kind of discouraging to hear. I think that we as a group need to remember that many less experienced players are not really that slow (they just walk up and throw while we are maybe a bit slower because we play under the rules of competitive etiquette) ; and they have just as much right to play there as the rest of us. So cut the newbies some slack, let them play through, you never how you can affect their whole experience up there. And if we want the sport to grow and the course to be maintaned (especially with the help of the city) we as stewards need to make an effort to make sure people have positive experiences up there, not intimidating ones.

Phew! Ok, jumping off my soapbox!
