Faultline 2006 wrap up - 2006/10/03 12:35
By most accounts, a very successful Faultline. We had 79 players: 3 women, 15 grandmasters (Tom Schot decided to play Grands since he was the only Sr Grand registered), 20 masters, and 41 open.
Nate Doss dominated. I don't believe anyone would have beaten him this weekend. Jack Trageser played open even though eligible for masters, and had the second lowest score among locals after two rounds. Myles Harding played well all weekend, and passed Jack by two strokes on Sunday. Kristy won the women's division and accepted the cash, so she is now officially a pro. Marty Hapner had the best local finish in the masters (8th), and David Levan took 3rd in the grands, losing his title to some hot shooting by Michael Barry and Merle Witvoet.
BIG THANKS to Marty, Dave Levan, CJ, Jim Hagen, Steve Ganz and Rob Hapner for all of their help. They took on big parts, and provided invaluable advice along the way. Also many thanks to Stan Pratt, Kevin Crews, Dave Thomas, Steve Lonhart, Dave Cooper, and Jack Trageser for their contributions before and during the tourney, even though they were also playing. More thanks to Chuck King, "Slingshot" Steve, Kirk, Dolan, and Dave Jacobson for spotting, and to Tom Witt for helping with the baskets. For anyone I forgot, my apologies.
The size and efforts of this team really made for a smooth tournament, and I thank you very much.
Russ

I knew I would forget someone else to thank. Jon Baldwin was unable to play due to an injury, so I roped him into to helping with baskets and spotting. Thanks JB!
