City at work at the course - 2005/10/27 10:15
There's a large crew from the city at the course this morning. They are putting silt barriers around the parking lot in preparation for the rain. It's really cool to see the city getting involved in a positive way. It may disrupt parking a bit and I'm not sure how long they'll be at it.

Hey Stan,
Good update. Were they actually city employees or did they look like consultants??

This is very cool.

Is it okay to start getting excited now?

They were actually city employees (lots of city of SC trucks). There were at least 9 of them.

Hmmmm.

I recently found out that the Coastal Conservancy will be doing a drainage project at upper dela. Perhaps this is part of that or maybe not. I will try to contact Susan Harris at Parks and Rec to get the skinny.

I left several messages for people at the City last week, and got a couple messages back this morning. They are going to be spreading 23 tons of crushed rock over the parking lot this Wed. about 9:30 a.m.

We have been asked if we could provide some volunteers to help spread it around. I am not available. It would be great if someone could show up with a shovel and/or rake to help, and maybe find out what else they may be planning.

I'll be talking more with the City today, and have asked for a meeting so we can get an update on the land swap and plans for the course.
