Replacement Sign - 2006/05/04 08:34
We plan on building the replacement sign in the putting area on Friday and Saturday.
The planned location is clearly marked in orange paint (we're only moving it a few feet...)
Please, if you have any objections on the location, SPEAK NOW OR FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE...
And, of course, feel free to volunteer with all the maintenance work that needs to get done in the next week before the NT Pro Masters Cup (mowing, weed wacking, etc, etc...).
Thanks!
Ed

Maybe we shouldn't put it there at all. Maybe it really belongs over by the tee on Hole #1.

Placing it over near the tee of hole #1 does have some merits. One of them being that it would be much more difficult to pull it down. The punks had to tie it off to a car in order to bring it down the first time, this way they wouldn't be able to do that.
On the other hand, some one reading the board might be in more danger because of throws coming off of 27 and the practice basket is a standard gathering spot for people before rounds.
Not really a vote either way, just thinking out loud. In order to keep the sign around longer, moving it to tee #1 might be the best thing. http://www.santacruzdisc.com

i'm no structural engineer, but maybe - besides a different location - another way to make it harder to destroy would be making this one lower profile and smaller. i'm guessing the taller it is, the easier it is to break/topple, and most of the time the board is no where near covered with flyers, etc.
also, i'd like to see a notice reminding people of the law they are breaking, the max penalty for 1st and repeat offenses, and the fact that at any time course advocates may be behind a bush, writing plate numbers and taking pictures. couldn't hurt!

Replacement Sign is Up - 2006/05/06 19:00
BIG thanks go out to all those guys who orchestrated the really fast turnaround replacement of our sign in the parking lot. It's up and looks great.
Thanks to Dan Shermis, Dave Levan, Jim Hagen, Kevin Kelly, and Rob Harding (sorry, I know that I must have missed more than one person!) we'll have a place to post the scores for this weekend's Masters Cup.
Hats off as well to Daviar Thomas, Marty Hapner, Kevin Crews, Russ Jacobson, and all the other guys for mowing and weedwacking. The course looks GREAT!
Thanks guys!!
