recycling bins/trash cans - 2006/02/08 23:58
Just a couple things about the above. A few sundays ago or maybe during
the week(does it matter?), I was up at the course in the parking lot talking to
Mark K. and the lady that collects the recycling from the bins/cans along the
course. Anyway she was saying that someone a couple nights before had cleaned them out(taken from the bins when they are not suppose to)
Okay what this is leading to is that while playing on the course, Please if
you see anyone collecting recycling from the trash or bins when they shouldnt
be, tell me its not okay to do so and its against the law.
On the sat of the Ice Bowl, the group I was in was playing and was on hole 8 at one point, a man and woman with a dog came up and were going thru the trash
getting recyling. We told them thats not okay and to stop. Note:they were driving a blue volvo station wagon(just to let you all know)

Hello All,

The "recycling lady" (I think her name is Ann?) is no longer collecting cans and bottles because of theft from her bins. She provided a great service: recycling materials and separating the trash (which she put in the dumpster).

Most of you have likely noticed the trash bins on the course are brimming. Last night, the can at tee #25 was overflowing. I took the initiative to recycle the top debris, then take the rest to the dumpster (which, btw, is full of household trash).

At the last meeting, club members discussed where trash cans should remain on the course. I believe they were tees 1, 7, 11, 20, and 27 (others chime in if memory is failing). All others should be removed to the parking lot.

I'd like to think that most disc golfers will carry their trash until they see a trash can. Better still is to take your trash back home. If you need to donate your glass and aluminum, do so at the parking lot. If you can stuff 6 full, cold BEvERageS in the bag at the start of the round, certainly you can carry the empties back to the lot.

Let's keep the course clean! DO YOUR PART!!
Cheers,
Steve
