Years ago, some of the monthlies had specific names (like the "Donald Duck Open", the "Hawaiian Open", etc).
This is something of a tradition we hope to bring back to life (or at least I do anyway ).
So I/we are open to suggestions for names!
Jan - "Hangover Open" - for obvious reasons Feb - "Donald Duck Open" - because it's usually raining this time of year hence the involvement of the 'duck'. Mar - Apr - May - June - July - Aug - Hawaiian Open - not sure if this is a good time for this one or what month it was originally held. Everyone will be encouraged to wear Hawaiian shirts, possibly leis and some sort of festivities involving a BBQ. Sept - Oct - Nov - Dec -
Names do not have to involve a holiday during that particular month, but it would be a nice tie in. For instance, the Easter monthly could be the "Egg On Your Face Open" or something like that.
Anyway - let's get some suggestions going! Maybe we can start pushing the monthlies back to two rounds too - as in the days of yore.
