Faultline 2005 wrap up. - 2005/10/03 11:11
Hello all,
Another first weekend of October has come and gone and that means another Faultline is complete. I want to thank every one for coming to Santa Cruz to play in the tourney. You are the reason we do the work we do, so I hope you enjoyed your time here in our little slice of paradise.
I also would like to thank the members of the DDGC who came together to make the event take shape and be as organized as it was. This was truly was a group effort and thanks to all of you.
But I really, really want to thank those that gave up their weekend so others could play. So a big shout out to:
Russ Jacobsen, Krissy King, Stan Pratt Chuck King, Steve Ganz, Rob & Ezra Hapner and Gabe House. You are all awesome and I can't ever thank you enough for all of your effort and your help.
Highlights for those that missed it:
Absolutely perfect weather for golf all weekend.
Nate Doss and Micah Dorius battled in the final 9 with Micah winning by a stroke. 5 of the top ten open finishers were Santa Cruz locals.
Carrie Burlogar successfully defended her title as the womens division Faultline champion.
Robbie Wilson wins in the masters by 7 strokes.
Dave Levan wins the Grandmasters his first time elgible to play.
Quote of the Weekend "De Laveaga is the hardest place to hold on to a lead." - Micah Dorius
2 Most overheard quotes of the weekend "Hey Jim, what happened to your hair?" "Yeah, that was a Wraith"
Congrats to all who came out and I hope everyone had fun
Till next year, Jim

BTW you can see all the scores at
Kudos to you and the folks you mentioned, along with the others who helped in many ways. A specieal THANKS to Tim Messer and his wife for providing the Jamba Juice, which was excellent!
And thanks to Marty Hapner and Steve Ganz for having the scores posted in near real-time. I appreciate that they quietly set the standard all tournaments should aspire to, even though many other tourneys fail miserably.
Congratulations to all the SC players! This course is soo tough. Lots of non-locals gained new respect for the quirks and dangers of DeLa.
Thanks again. Happy to donate...
Cheers, Steve

Thanks Jim for pulling it all together. I had a great seat on hole #4 and saw some amazing throws. The atmosphere among the players was excellent. I wish I could have helped out for rounds 2 and 3 but I was called to work.
Oh and thanks for the chocolate brown shirt. The pros were saying they wished they had my color.
