Re:Southwestern Team Tournament - 2005/12/06 18:08
Good discussion.

Thanks Dave for explaining.

I am trully sorry if I upset you or anyone else on the team.

I think this years team was great team and they played outstanding.
It was argueably the best that could be fielded no doubt about it.

I was just thinking that the Faultline was not the only factor to qualify for the event, and why if it were I thought it might not be fair. I can only guess as I have never been fully clear on the whole process myself.

Like Daviar was saying, if there is an esatblished criteria it would take some of the mystery out if it was better known.

Kroutch is right, we should hear it from the captain stop guessing.

I very appreciate you taking the time to expalin the process as you see it, and hopefullly it makes more sense to eveyone.

Either way it was a great team and none of this should make any one feel anyh less proud of the great play this year.

I think that was a good discussion, good that some people used the forum to discuss it, and good that guidelines seem to be laid out or on their way. I understand the feelings that some of these guys have, though unrelated to this event...

I'm speaking of the Nor Cal - So Cal tourney for the bucket.

I have tried several times, over the last several years, to get the team captain to include Am women (nothing personal is in it for me - I'm too mediocre and old).

Finally, this last year, an Am woman was present (maybe two?) but one of them was a woman with few Nor Cal tourney points because she doesn't play many nor cal events. She may be good, and related to a prominant NorCal tourney director, but many other women played more, played the nor cal championships, and played well. Yet she was invited. (I know that the top women weren't invited) That just irks me. I have yet to express this with the captain, but may.

So, this type of discussion is good, especially as the club develops and strengthens.

-Katie
