The 2006 event is over and congratulations to a lot of golfers from Santa Cruz (and those we consider from SC).
In Advanced, Ruben G. ties for 10th place (of 31), in Open Masters Daviar takes 8th, Kevin Crews cashes at 5th, Tom McGraw takes 3rd, and Doug Werner (aka Skeletor) cruises to a 9 stroke victory! In Open, young Chris Edwards takes 12th and I cashed in a tie for 7th. Josh Anthon won his 4th (?) Freedlun in a row!
The course was fun and conditions were excellent (i.e. no wind!). We played 22 holes on Saturday AM, then the same 22 holes with a few changes in the afternoon. On Sunday we had an extra five holes and two regular holes lengthened.
Staci and Bob Pauly did a great job as TDs. I recommend that people play it next year.

I would have been playing, but I had some work to do at Dela on Sunday.
Outside of three other disc golf accomplishments, the two aces on Sunday were a career high point for me! I threw a Buzz straight at hole #4 (left position) and it just went in--I was kind of in shock. Then, about 15 holes later on hole #H, I bombed a thumber that smashed the ground on the left of the basket, bounced hard right, and slammed the chains. Two aces in one round! That was worth over $100 in ace money...
How did things go on Sunday?!

Sunday went well. It ended up being Jim Hagen, Dave Cooper and myself playing off for the two remaining spots. I went 2-0, Jim 1-1 and Dave 0-2. I was fortunate in that I played well enough to lock in a spot early on, so the pressure was off me. It went right down to the wire between Jim and Dave and really could have gone either way all the way up to the last hole of their match.
