This may be a little late, but if you go up when it IS a little more crowded, you can probably jump in with a group or follow a group around the course. The holes that are easiest to miss are #2 (sometimes people walk straight over to #3); #4 (because the tee for six is right off to the left of the pin on #3 and you might be tempted to think it's the next hole); #11 (since you have to cross the road and it's not blatantly obvious where it is); #13 (because you might throw to the #15 pin or to #14 pin since they are more visible).
If you get lost...just ask.

Thanks for the tips. I'll definitely carry a map with me; I'd have been screwed without one at CSUMB "Oaks" today. (The map didn't prevent me from bogeying almost every hole, however. )
I'm still shooting for Thursday, late morning, at DeLa...
