Hello all, Just thought I would post my email to Ellen here.
Even though we don't need everyone to follow in Steve's foot steps and post
there emails.

Hello. I am a Santa Cruz County resident and strongly support the likely hood of a Disc
Golf Course going in at Pinto Lake. There are many reasons why there should be a course put in at Pinto lake and I am sure you will see/hear from many supporters of such a thing happening at Pinto lake and many good reasons to have one installed there.
Delaveaga Disc Golf course is my home course and I enjoy/support it in many ways, either it playing Disc Golf on the course or by $$ funds to the club or by maintenance at the course.
The Disc Golf course at Delaveaga has helped out in the community in many ways, hosting Disc Golf tournaments there is one of the ways, which brings more disc golf players to the area from out of town. If you really wanted to see how well the Delaveaga Disc Golf course is doing and how many people use it each day, etc. One of the things to do is on any given afternoon come up to course for yourself, the parking lot in the most part is full of cars, which means many people are playing disc golf at the course. Either it be locals or out of towners and sometimes even people from out of state, I have met many people on vacations that have come to play Disc Golf at Delaveaga from places like Oregon, Washington, Florida, Michigan, Arizona, etc. Another great measurement is on a tournament day like the Masters cup, there is a increase in revenue at local stores and restaurants.

So please take some of these pluses to having a Disc Golf course at Pinto Lake as a major possibilty and very good thing for the city of Watsonville to have happen. Tom Schot is well known through the Disc Golf community and well respected.

thanks for taking the time to read my email.

Does anybody know the status of this?

I haven't heard anything about it for quite some time.
Last I heard, it seemed like it was a "done deal".

Thanks,

- JPB

The last update I heard was from Tom Schott at the November club meeting. He said that there was a small bump in the road. A new supervisor (not sure of official title or position) came in and requested an Environmental Impact Report. Supposedly they are paying for the report and it's not supposed to take that long, but we don't know the time table for it.

Thanks for the update, Stan.

I'll keep my fingers crossed (thuogh it deos mkae it hrad to type ), but I'd be surprised if the EIA doesn't come back either completely negative or with very little mitigation required. We went through a few with Hellyer & La Raza and those courses infringe upon riparian habitat.
