(Cigarette) butt collectors - 2007/06/15 18:08
Hi All,

Not sure who took the time to make the butt collectors, but kudos to you!

I have one suggestion: currently the paint cans (hanging from the dog leash hooks under some benches) do not have lids, and some not-so-smart or lazy players have tried to put their beer cans, bottles etc. into and next to the paint cans. I suggest putting the lids on, but making a hole on the lid so butts can still go in but beverage containers cannot (e.g., a hole smaller in diameter than a bottle/can).

I find it interesting/disturbing that most people have--apparently--packed their trash out in recent months (since decline in # of trash cans) but if there is a trash can, they dump stuff. Not sure how to deal with that.

Again, thanks to the person with the nice plan for butts.

I'm sure someone more clever can come up with some nice double entendres using "butt"

Cheers,
Steve

Maybe it was that one Kid, that did a lot of clean up on the course
last Sunday and called Russ like 3+ times wanting a letter?

As for the Paint Cans for the butts, even though
I think that Disc Golf is no place for smoking
( I can hear the UPROAR of the smokers now!!!)
still good job with the paint cans on the holes, but I would say
isn't that like a OXY Moron? Double Standard for say....
Inviting the butts to be placed into the can, but not inviting
garbage to be placed in a can?

Catch 22 babbbbbbbbbyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyYYY...
Also, if say Lids were put on the cans? what would not invite
someone to uncork the lid from the can? or pry the lid
off?

Can I have permission to STRANGLE!! who ever keeps
leaving Empty Bottles in the Paint Cans?
OK, OK, Not really. That is not nice, but it is not nice
for people to leave there empty beer bottles/cans
in the paint can.

hi dolan,

this is a perfect example of why trash cans are in limited numbers around the course.

essentially, if you leave a receptacle for trash, people will use and abuse it,.

especially if there is no one who regularly empties the container. then the trash spills over and becomes more of an eyesore then it was before it began.

i have removed excess bottles from the ash cans already, and will continue to do so, however, though i applaud those who are trying to make the course cleaner, i question how long this will last given the circumstances.

Well Marty, I don't agree with you or the club about the
Garbage cans being removed from most of the holes.
Though I will respect it, but not agree with it.
I do respect you Marty.

The way I see it, if we got like 2 or 3 club members to do garbage detail
of the cans like every week then it would be kept up to a clean state and in
return maybe, possibly(Yeah a lot of IFS AND BUTS!!!) people
would understand....

Though the club does not see it this way and I find it a shame,
yet I will respect the clubs wishes of 'Most Garbage Cans Being gone
from the course.'
