Please check out my latest Learning Curve entry on DeLa Blahg at www.santacruzdisc.com. Click here to see it:
I'm curious to get feedback. Do I take disc golf too seriously? To me, it's golf! Post responses here or on the Blahg. Thanks.

Golf IS a serious sport.
(though it IS OK to get buzzed provided you maintain etiquette, just like ball-golf)
Your blahg is very accurate, good post.
IT SHOULD BE POSTED AT THE COURSE for newbies
LAMINATED IN LARGE PRINT (or on scorecards)

Hi Jack,
Nice write-up. I guess one thing to mention is the difference between a casual round and a tournament round. While I agree with almost everything you wrote, it is especially true during a tournament. Casual rounds are, for me, something different. Common courtesy should reign, but often times does not. And everyone has a different sense of what is appropriate or not. That's the tough part.
I do think that we have a duty to help educate others, and as you stated, do so in a non-confrontational manner. Encouraging others to play disc golf, and to do so with consideration for others AND the course itself, is paramount for healthy growth of the sport.
Those who are willing to nurture the sport must realize they are ambassadors, and their actions are viewed by others--at all times. So be self-aware, act as you would want others to act, and be civil. This all seems like common sense to me, but I know we all are gripped by strong emotions at times . We just have to control them!
Thanks Jack for bringing this issue up. I hope lots of people read the Blahg. Cheers, Steve
