You're right about that. I also think that there should be some written format on the web site about the Norcal finals and skins, and add a format for inviting people to the Norcal -Socal challenge. It would be something everyone, including the captain, could refer to (that is assuming he'd look at the site, or someone would provide him with a hard copy) and that all parties agree to such a format.
Easier said, than done, I'm sure.

Yes, it seems more could be done to give the invited players better notice for this event.
I was told second or third hand two days before the tournament that I was invited. Had I known sooner, I almost certainly would have made arrangements to go.
IMHO, a bit more planning and notification should be done.
Looks like we kicked butt though. Probably had something to do with me not playing....

I was up at the course friday and got a last minute invite to play the Norcal Socal challenge from Rob Harding cuz Myles was ill. I was planning on playing the IceBowl, but a chance to represent Norcal sounded sweet. Waller Park in Santa Maria was a super nice park and the format was different, but fun!! It was 36 consecutive holes of match play each day. The first 18 was singles and second 18 was doubles. Norcal won the match by 42 points. 1 point for a singles victory and 2 for doubles. I played with Shane Robinson of Orangevale and we played well together, on Sunday he put on the best putting display I have ever witnessed!

Hey Shasta,
Thanks for the info! Michael Travers, the captain of the NorCal Team, gave me a call Thursday night to see if I could play. AS he explains it, he had all of his players set, but then the death of disc golfer Robbie Johnston (car accident) had many people staying for the funeral service rather than heading down to Santa Maria. Then there were likely other last minute cancellations, so you get the last minute calls...
I would LOVE to know who the NorCal players were! Travers told me he uses the NorCal standings to invite players, and I was 10th in 2007, yet I did not make the initial cut (I doubt all those guys ahead of me in the standing said they'd play, but...)
Anyways, I'm glad NorCal won again and the event went well. Do you know if there was a web site for info?
Thanks! Steve
