Re:Black Mouse (Felton) Monthly??? - 2005/06/13 13:14
What I am trying to say is that the school and the neighborrs have had problems with the course, and raised a fuss from pretty much the day it went in. (I helped cut some of the first fairways, and placed the first basket w/ Tommy)

"A little disc golf" tends to come with a lot of beer and a few fire hazards
Not you per se, but the more people you put on that course, the more those odds go up.

They have threatened to pull the course on more than one occasion.

Sooo ...if you love Felton & Disc Golf, you may want to keep BM on the down low ....

If there are good places in Felton for DG that do not border such a sensative area, it might be better to start developing those area's where you could have a less tenuous course, an actual club, and organized events. If you can suggest some, I would be willing to start looking into it as Dela does need relief.

No doubt Monthlys at BM would be cool, but the added attention could lead to the end of that course. It might not be worth the risks involved?

Teacher eh??? kinda suits you Heath. What if it wasn't an us tournament per se... but how about each person interested, instead of playing, sponsors a jr. player in a monthly tourney there? Maybe a kid that goes to that school? Ya know, pay their fee, and coach them to prepare for the competition... I'm sure there are some more ideas out there too that are just as good... well almost as good... good also..

So the more I think about it the more I think you guys are right.

Perhaps it could be more formal, work with the school, and give the entry fee's to the schools athletic program? Maybe the funds could go back to course maint?

That would be a win for both sides, and build some good will.
