Respect for the Champ! - 2007/08/08 09:26
I was checking out the front page of the PDGA website yesterday. It's been updated to report the pro worlds champions.
Dr. Duesler has really blown it with his article:
"Jenkins Unseats Reading for World Championship; Kallstrom Comeback Falls Short, as Doss Captures 2nd World Title"
First, Val Jenkins beating Des Reading is a big story, but more so than Doss winning his second championship in three years? I don't think so.
Further, not only did Kallstrom's name get mentioned before Nate in the title of the story, but Mr. Duesler wrote "Kallstrom did draw even with Doss on the sixth hole of the Finals, but gave it back to Nate when he missed his birdie putt on the eighth hole. "
The description I heard from our friends who were present at the event indicated that Nate made a 100+ foot put from his knee to make birdie on the eighth hole. Did Kallstrom give it back or did Nate take the lead back? It sounds like serious Doss stiff arm to me!
I'm writing a letter to the PDGA and hope others will too.
You may also want to remind Mr. Duesler and his PDGA colleagues that THREE of the world champs are from NorCal. In addition, Nate is the TOP RANKED GOLFER IN THE WORLD FOR THE LAST SEVERAL WEEKS in the Marshall Street Disc golf rankings
