Yeah, if you get caught throwing discs purchased at the ball golf course you will be heckled by locals, and your putts will consistently roll away from the basket.

A portion of the discs purchased at THE VAN go to support the course through the club, so the choice is simple.

For those of us that did not make it, here are some great shots, including one of Shasta Criss, who pocketed $905 for 3rd, losing only to Stevie Rico (1 stroke) and winner Paul McBeth (2 strokes). Way to go!

And Berl crushed women's, while Jon Baldwin was tied for 1st with three other guys, and took home 2nd at $775!

EoTC had $14,000 added cash, and deserves to be a SuperTour event with that kind of payout and only 149 players (only 18 MPO and 19 MPM!).

Way to go DeLa players!

Check out this link for cool photos, one of Shasta teeing off.

I shot 64 today with a 6 on hole #3. I practiced the roller on that hole (thanks for the tip JB) and it looks like it could be an easier way to go... The good rollers end up near the base of the pin in the pile of cuttings, and the bad rollers end up as bad as an air shot that gets deflected.

Here are some other thoughts, most likely for worlds, but maybe they can be tested in 2 wks....

1. Rope around the rock garden on hole 3 to clearly mark OB.
2. If hole 8 stays a par 4, then define an island green with rope. Make two shapes, one larger than the other, separated by 20-30 ft, and force the player to land in it. Or, just turn it into a par 3.
3. Hole 15 can be a true island, since the pin is in a cement box. Use rope/flags to mark the end of IB from off the tee, like 20 ft from the start of the cement box and going in an arc.

I really think the only non-par 3 holes on the course are:
#11=par 5
#14=par 4
#16=par 4

Par should be 58. I think Nate, Avery, Dave, Nico and guys rated >1020 will shoot in the low 50s quite easily. There are 6 holes you can reach in 2. That more than balances the 4 "added" strokes on the tough holes.

The field is limited to the first 32 players to register and registration is now open. So get on it quick if you want to play! Tournament will be on October 2nd at Dela. There will be 9-hole matches, with a minimum of two matches, up to 6 matches (54 holes!) for the winners.

It has hardly anything posted yet, but the main URL for volunteers will be http://www.2011proworlds.com/volunteers/.

Eventually the list of top 10 reasons to volunteer will include many details, from commitment level required to the many, many perks. We want an army of 200 dedicated people, and even though we have an ad in the next issue of Disc Golfer essentially inviting players and fans around the world to come and join us, I'd like to see a healthy percentage of locals.
